Course overview

Financial performance indicators cannot fully capture the complexity of an organization’s performance. The financial performance is only the tip of the iceberg of organizational performance. Hence, we need performance indicators reflecting multiple dimensions and multiple perspectives of performance so as to optimize and sustain performance growth. This gap in the traditional measures of performance management has been bridged up by the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). A BSC is a framework which is meant to translate organization’s strategy into specific objectives, supported with measures, indicators and actions. The BSC approach allows incorporation of multiple perspectives in the performance management plans. Such perspectives may include shareholders, employees perspective, customer perspective, and so on. This is a crash course and will facilitate the participants in learning and applying most critical areas of BSC.
